SOoooo me thinks tonight shall take ginger gobshite to field- run ass off with ball in hopes of having a quieter night (OH walked him last night- well he says he did- thats another matter). Get to field which is actually two seperated by a woody bit.

See GSD over other side of field- think pants, is lady who lives opposite field, its not very nice. Stop and wait to see which way she is going (Dex cannot see dog- advantages of being taller than him!!!)- only lady is not there, and its not her GSD. Think it must be going left along the other footpath so about turn and continue on walk- Dex is grumpy becasue this is the BALLLLLIIIEEEE field and he is still on lead- but think this is good for him, so leave him on it.

Lose sight of GSD, but just to be sure keep fat pants on lead. We are having a nice time sniffing etc, Dex seems to be tracking something, probably the GSD- when see GSD again- seems to be tracking us, but looks up sees us ans sits down. :p

Decide when I can see 99% of field that GSD has gone- let Dex off - play ball all good- then GSD appears again- Dex still hasnt clocked it but put him back onlead. GSD was following us but at this point doubles back and stops by entrance to field- finally Dex clocks it- so I am clicking and treating for all Im worth, GSD is sauntering in our general direction I have to get outta there- so walk straight across field with ginge going tits now- GSD is too close.

GSD is wearing a collar- so eventually manage to get Dex into car, go back to field, call dog, whistle, squeak ball cant get near it- looks at me like "lady you is not my mum, iz on important business, so will just carryz on if you dont mind" and off he goes.:rolleyes::confused:

So which one of you sent your GSD to walk itself as a training distraction??

Strangest walk of my life!!!! :D

Well unless it was one of CCs or MMs it was nowt to do with me.:D

The one thing though that struck me about your post was it didnt faze you,not too long ago you would have turned round and gone in the opposite direction.

That is called progress, you might not call it that but that is what it is so well done for not having a breakdown.:D

Yeah I guess so but then I reckon not so long ago Dex would have clocked it long before he did and I would not have had a choice, was half tempted to just keep Dex off lead and see what occured- he has never met a dog offlead that he doesnt "know" with me- then thought that was probably a vets bill waiting to happen!!

I was even going through scenarios in my head

"ok I have a double ended lead- I can lead both if needs be or take Dex;s collar off, put on GSD and have Dex on his harness- whilst I phone the owner" ERM YEAH ok Lex cos Dex in his huge "NEW MATE" excitement is going to let you call the GSD's owner.......

Talking about strange walks, when I just had Leo my liver boy we were walking across a field and I spied up ahead a Roe deer with a fawn. I put Leo on the lead and started to walk quickly back the way we had came and glanced behind me to see the deer and fawn running after us. Then it stopped, turned around and ran in the opposite direction. I can only assume it thought leo was another deer, he was the same height, colour and the same lighter markings behind

Very bizzaare..
