went to yard to get horses in about 4pm and the new rug i bought the other day was wet through

I went for the weatherbeeta takka, as the horseware was a bit on the heavy side. So im not impressed to say the least, it will be going back tomorow, it wasnt cheap either

I've got a Rambo duo and its never soakd through yet, cant recommend it enough, I'd be pretty mad too!

I like my weatherbeeta takka had mine 2 years and its never leaked

I know its been awful but a new rug should be waterproof.Go Debs ,take it back wet

really like the look of that one but it comes with a 300gm under rug so combined with the outer rug it was a little too warm, now a 200gm under rug would be great

Ill just have to see what they say tomorow, when i take it back

rambo duo is nice rug but is smallish made but never had problems with it apart from velcro not staying closed .. but fal rugs all the way for me

yeah but you could always buy the 100g liner for an extra £30 roughly then you have a rug for now then a heavier one for when it gets really cold.

My Taka has been fantastic in some really bad weather, maybe you were just unlucky and got a duff rug? A decent saddlers will definately organise a replacement for you as 'not fit for purpose intended' is quite a big no-no under the trade descriptions act!

You can ask for a 100g liner instead with the initial purchase of a Rambo Duo...... Mines waterproof but velcro comes undone every day

I bought a rhinegold 350gm full neck t/o for £42 at YHL. My mare was out today from 8.30 to 5.30 and to be honest, it has p*ssed it down all day and I was expecting it to be soaked through when I got there this evening, but no, my cheapo rug was bone dry inside, my mare was completely dry bar a small patch on her chest where the front folds back. The folding back happens with most rhinegold rugs apparantly.

That's really disappointing for you. My 2 were out in alot of rain last night but were snug and dry in their Rambo Wug Plus rugs.

We use FAL rugs and have never had a problem with them leaking, however heavy the rain. Had a Premier Equine one which leaked like a sieve - never again.

Id contact Weatherbeeta. Not right at all. Ive used the Orican and Arion (both cheaper than the Takka) for past 3 years with no leakage problems at all. I love my WB's!

solo had his arion combo on all day yesterday and he was lovely and warm and dry.... and is out in it today too.
red had his orican combo on all day yesterday and he was warm and dry..... and is out in it today aswell.

BUT solo had a landa LW on in june and was soaked from a little shower- so i took it back and got a refund.
