Yesterday afternoon/evening we went to do some dressage with a friend, just to do some schooling away from home but with the competition atmosphere.
Got there in good timing so unloaded and tacked up, then went to warm up. Nice big warm areana and quiet as well, Blu warmed up really well and was going beautifully
The show was running early so my friend went in and did a lovely test on her cob, then I went in and did my test.
I think Blu went in expecting to do a round of jumps (she is mainly a show-jumper and has never done any dressage/real flatwork), so was a little thrown when she went in.
It was a fairly spooky arena with mirrors a large gallery and lots of windows and a entrance with horses outside. She did a very nice test though, went in an outline for quite a bit of it aswell. She was looking around quite a lot and took a great interest in gawping at the judge!
But yes, really really proud of her
She was so well behaved and took everything in her stride. The competition was very high as a lot of people were using it as a warm up and judging was quite strict. We got 55.42% - not bad for her first attempt I don't think?
Thanks for reading - pics will be up this afternoon hopefully!
