Hi i have recently moved my boys 1 owned by myself 1 loaned ive only had him on loan for a few days, mine ones feet our fine but the other our really bad his hooves really need trimming very badly farriers booked for friday but his frogs are shredding looks likes theres a top layer pushing across the hoofs, also 1 hoof has a thick black line around the frog & really smells i believe this is foot rot? Thrush? Hydrone proxcide should be ok for this shouldnt it how often should i use it? 12% 9%??, hes not lame but im very worried about it as they are really bad 1 of his back feet i cant get near it it pulls it away & wont let me touch it, im newish to him & he is with me so i dont want to grab it & scare/hurt to poor little man, ive also heard of purple spray? I read you can get trimmers aswell as farriers he is bear foot & will the farrier charge extra for taking off the extra frogs? Do they need it?, he is turned out in the day & in at night his stable is kept clean & im cleaning his hoofs twice daily, ive seen him running around also, Thanks in advance

Sounds like he has bad thrush, have a look at the red horse products, they're brilliant, cleared up my boys feet in about a week and help to toughen them up too

Syringe HP liberally into the cracks and crevices etc twice a day... I can't remember what solution, I think I used to mix it to five percent but then this was 20 years ago so I could be wrong... Someone else will be able to tell you.
