posted before but had no luck, trying again..

sold him in 2008 as i was too big for him, but have always regretted it. was my horsey soulmate and i still miss him and wonder how he is and where he is every day.

He's a 12.2/3 grey connemarra cross, and was the cheekiest wee guy ever, my first pony and my best friend. i had him for 5 years. he'll probably be about or 10/11 now, and probably be almost completely white.

The people that bought him from me told me i could visit whenever i wanted and that they would send me emails and pictures of how he's doing. they sent me one photo, then seemed to disappear. ive emailed them a few times but have never had a reply from them. dont understand why, i would never do that to someone. Last thing i know is that they were at a livery yard in stirling, surrounded by big hills and forrests.

heres a link to the photos, set on public so you should hopefully be able to see them. let me know if you cant!

Unfortunately none of those links work for me.

Not that I would be able to help with the whereabouts of the pony, just thought you should know ;)

I put an ad in your horse... someone replied and let me know where my pony was. May be worth a go using freezmark info and name...

Found mine at yard used for riding lessons ... I contacted woman and said id rehome him as he wouldve been too old to be 'useful' anymore but she said she wouldnt do it :-(

he doesnt have a freezemark, unless someone else gave him one after i sold him, im afraid. ive put him on the your horse forum, and in the pony magazine site.

oh no :( id hate that, he started off in a riding school (at only 4!) and i got him out of it, would hate to see him back there :(

Also, is your maths wrong on his age? If you bought him as a four year old, had him for five years and sold him in 2008 wouldn't he be older than 10/11 now? Sorry, not meaning to be pedantic but best to be as accurate as possible to increase the chances of finding him :)

He is quite distinctive colour for a pony so good luck with finding him. I am always happy to keep in touch with my horse owners but they always drift away at some stage..But good luck I can understand why you would want to know and hope its a good ending.

i didnt buy him at 4, he came to the riding school at 4, i was loaning another pony at the time but when he came i knew he was "the one" so to speak haha, loaned him for a bit and my parents got him for me as a christmas present when when the loan was up. he was just over 5 when we got him. saying that im no mathematical whiz kid haha, but at the oldest he'd be 12? i think.. need to root out the photo copy of his passport to remind myself of his dob now! its been too long :(

he'll probably be quite white now! i know, i didnt expect them to keep in touch forever, but even just a wee update now and again would have been nice, he was my first pony, and they saw how upset i was the day they came to pick him up :( tearing up thinking about it and it was years ago!

thank you :)

Ooh, if you have a photocopy of his passport that will really help. Pop a thread on here with his name in the title and include all the details you have like date of birth etc. Also, you could write to the passport issuing agency and ask them to forward on a letter to the curren owner? Also have you tried looking on NED?

yeah somewhere, will try hunt it out after work tomorrow and post it! Im in the process of typing a letter up :) NED? dont think ive heard of that.. bit of a newbie to tracing horses since im only on my second haha!

Also, write to the passport issuers and send a photocopy of the passport and ask them to send a letter on to his owners?

I would love to hear from my horse's previous owners.

How many livery yards are there in Stirling? have you tried calling around, trying the local Pony club their?

Set up a thread asking if anyone is in a pony club in Stirling?

Start a thread using Stirling in the title...try to locate a forum member who is local to find out where ponies are advertised locally...in my area we use NFED.co.uk there may be something local to that area

Good luck

Ps - there's def something going wrong with your maths somewhere! ;)

ive said before im no maths whizkid haha :(

i forgot that the lovely people at busby lied about his age, when vet came to do his passport he aged him at over 5 rather than 4. he was born in 01, meaning he'd be 11 or 12 now (cos we dont know what month!)

is this now clear haha?! took me ages to work it out today. im still not even sure..

If you sold him in 08 then he would have been seven when you sold him, minus the five years of having him is 2 which means he would have been 2 when you got him which I know is not correct. But I need fingers to count so please feel free to ignore me - at least bumping thread again!

Have you created a Facebook group? I've done one for someone here who's looking for a mare called Candy.

First I created a fb identity it the name "Find Candy" which has Candy as the profile photo and explains if I've sent a friend request, it's because I can see you're horsey and thought you might help. :)

Then I created a group called "Please help find Candy". Then "Find Candy" joined lots of horse groups, especially in the area Candy's likely to be, made friends with many of those groups' members and added them to the group. Those people add their friends too.

The group has nearly 1,000 members now and is still growing. :)

I hope that eventually someone will see the group or my profile and recognise her...
