My mum and I are arguing over how much my 17yrs YOUNG handsome bay gelding 15,2hh is worth. He's good to hack, been out of loan to a riding club person for two yrs v-happy, only coming bac due to personal problems for the lady.
Won 70 + bd points won junior trailblazer champs been to winter bd champs. Good jumper but will have the odd stop obove 3,0 if u don't ride him properly. Fab temperment. A real sweet heart. Quite a 4ward ride.
I think between £1000 - £1250 because he's a cracking school master. Mum thinks between £500- £800 which I think is cheap! help us? [image]

I agree with your pricing of him...schoolmasters are worth their weight in gold. Ok he is a bit older but if he's sensible and hacks out on his own etc...i'd say he was worth it.
 
Agree with PrincessDana, if you ask too low a price you could end up selling to someone who just wants a cheap horse. I would maybe even ask for 1500 if he came with a wardrobe - 17 is not that old for RC and hacking.
 
He seems to be a dressage horse or unaffiliated sjer for someone looking at a first horse. About 1k - 1.5k I would say. He's handome, make a nice show horse, with his paces would do well in veteran classes.
 
I disagree , 17 isnt that old and I think 1000-1250 is too cheap !
If he is a schoolmaster like you said and he's not off his rocker or puts in alot of stops .
I would think he would be worth more around the 2k mark

I'm inclined to agree with ISH_lover, 17 isnt old nowadays! Nutrition and management mean that horses are living longer and having longer working lives. He looks like a lovely type, and a teenager wanting to become involved in dressage etc would be ideal for your chap. I'd say £1500-£2000
 
He's lovely- I'd pay around 1.5k, if not more depending on if we 'clicked' - 17 is not old any more, especially if he's fit and has been well looked after ...I'd snap your arm off at your price, and at your mums price I'm practically getting my car keys right now

I would ask around £2k for him - but only because of his age. I wonder if you could get more. I certainly wouldn't 'give' him away for a few hundred quid.

What a wonderful horse.
 
Thanks everyone i'm pleased you've priced him the same as me, i will deff show my mum when she gets back from work your posts. Lets hope we find him a good home.
