got a pony for sale but no idea how much to ask... he was 4 two months ago, approx 13.2 bay nfxdartmoor, broken last year and turned away for the winter been working for 4 months, never bucked reared or evan gotten strong, doesnt heat up in open spaces, fields or at shows got a clear at first xc (only 1'9

)) went to first showing show and got a 3rd for pony club pony and pulled in for 2nd but then dropped to 5th in m&m in-hand out of 18 ponies, and went clear in a small cr, he lives in or out never gets upset if he's on his own has no vices hacks alone or in company, very handsom loving pony wise well b4 his time! not spooky and can ride and lead a small tot on him, just worried people would never believe how well behaved a 4 yr old can be! just need to decied how much to put him up for!!! help would be much appriciated!!!m

Well I've been keeping an eye out for prices as we'll be looking for similar height for next year as my daughter is starting to knock poles with her feet on an 11.2 if she's not careful. She has a fab instructor so we're not averse to a youngster to bring on, and I've seen adverts for similar age/experience from just under £1K to just over 2K. I think his age/lack of experience goes against him as people may not trust your word, a little older and been out/done a bit more and they do seem to get more expensive. Is he going to exceed 13.2 as that can be more tricky for a first pony as he'd be excluded from some classes?

Where abouts are you? he does sound lovely....

i hope he doesnt get over 13.2!! as my plans were to sell him as a first pony, i know ideally he would be more vaulable if he had done a it more but being that he has only been working since febuary havent wanted to push him im not in a hurry to sell him so might be worth my while doing a bit more with him?

I'd certainly say you'd get more for him if you did more with him now, but it depends when you want to sell him, as I think traditionally people do tend to look more in the spring so prices are a bit higher than in the autumn when people don't want the upkeep during the winter and sell off more cheaply then.
