I would like to get in touch with an English-speaking authority on the Schapendoes breed (Dutch Sheepdog). I've tried googling but I can't find a UK Breed Society page that works, or an Owners' Club, or even a UK-based breeder or owner. I want to ask them about my little dog, who was picked up as a stray near Hull Docks 4 months ago. This is she (aged approx. 9 months):

and again, same age:

and lots of pages of Schapendoes pics:

It seems highly unlikely that she could be this breed, but she looks and behaves EXACTLY as the breed standard says. It's a long shot, but it might be worth an experts opinion! So if anyone knows who i can get in touch with, i would be extremely grateful (not to mention seriously impressed!)

Thanks, all! I now have, as Baldrick would say, a "cunning plan" in place. So, thanks for your help.

Yes, a few people have said she looks like a Briard- only she's a bit on the small side for that- she's 42 cm tall. Plus her nose is shorter. Other suggestions have been things along the "water dog" lines- Spanish, portuguese etc. But anyway, she's just a lovely, lovely little dog and I really can't fault her. We're very lucky to have her, whatever breed she is!

Wheaten terrier?? Although she may be a fraction too tall.

Given where she was found its possible she has 'jumped ship' at some point.
