The ssl shires sports leisure horse/pony weight tapes/height tape. (white one) though they are prob all the same!!

Anyway, I know how to weigh the horse with it by using the arrows at one end, but how do you accurately as possible measure height? At one end there is the arrow which is for weight, then the 1,2,3 bit....which bit to I stand on/level with my foot???
my tape looks like this one

I know what you mean and I have tried using a similar one to measure my haffie but the height seems wrong so I must be doing it wrong, am going to borrow my friend's measuring stick instead, but sorry can't help you!

Is there a line across it, somewhere under the numbers? My tape has a line where you place it on the floor and stand on it (or this is what I have always been led to believe). You then put a stick across flat from the withers to the tape to get your reading.

I'm not sure that they are that accurate and a measuring stick is much better for an exact height.
