I started looking for a loan horse since pheebs died and i can across this lovely chappy.

He is a 16 yo tb x holstein, 16.3hh

He is bigger than I was looking for but decided he was worth a look.

So I have been to see him and he is lovely chappy, very good to handle on the ground, schooled and jumped him and went very lovley, feels very honest. Went up yesterday to hack him out and he was wonderfull apart from he has issues with cows. Spins around and around and throws his in every direction. However this is his only fault, he went past everything else, dumped peices of farm yard machinery, huge peices of red pipe etc etc, and is brilliant out cantering in the field, doest get strong!
He has only been at his current yard 3 weeks and only hacked out twice, so its all still very new to him. So I am taking that into consideration.

She has a few people interested but would like him to go to me over these other people. However, she is moving back to london in two weeks so wont allow a trial for a month or two weeks here or at the livery yard.

Im extremely torn about what to do, as without the trial its a big decison to make with only ridng a horse twice. If I was to say you yes and it wasnt to work the only option would be for her to readvertise him for loan and they view him with me. Or do I just look for something else

Im really torn as dont want to miss an oppurtunity of a cracking horse but at same time make any hasty decions. Got to decide but lunch time today

If you like him go for it, after all it's only a loan. There is only one little thing that would worry me: I would want the loan agreement to have a set period of notice for returning the horse after which the owner has to be responsible for him. Having to keep him and show him to other people until another loanee can be found could be a time consuming and costly process.
