HI All

My 5 yo broken in this year Welsh Section D started violently bucking with me, had vet out, physio etc and his back is ever so slightly sore, physio recons once iv worked on his topline, i can start riding him in 2 weeks approx but has said his saddle is slightly dipped at the back & recommended a half wool pad with rear riser inserts or something similiar, what would you suggect as the best make pad to use?

Vet advised me t lunge him for 4 weeks in a pessoa with no riding, but my Welsh being the way he is (highly strung!) he wont accept a pessoa around his body / bum and bucks very violently in one so kinda defeats the object really, physio been out since and recommended this rear riser pad, i did pay 500 quid for a professionally fitted saddle 2 months ago, physio said it doesnt luk like a bad fit, just not 100% due to his loss of topline being out of work...anyone recommend a pad? or with similiar success stories would be good to hear? :)

I had the same problem with my saddle. I bought an Acavallo Gel Rear Riser from horsehealth.co.uk. It's made a huge difference.

Hi.

My horse wasn't bucking but he had a very sore back and had a lot of physio. Since I've used the rear riser he is going so much better and his back isn't anywhere near as sore.

Apparently his back was sore enough that it could have made him buck - but they can all act differently. He was throwing his head, not working through his back and some muscle wastage.

Once I got his back sorted, saddle re-flocked and the riser - I took him right back to basics.

Good luck - hope you get your boy sorted.

thanksyou Reform....so do i! physio said the saddle was slightly longer than what he needed as me and him are both only small him about 14h and me 8st so i did specify a 16''...but saddler only came with 17'' in car and said that fitted him fine...physio said if she's being picky she recons its slightly long on him.... :( bit annoyed really as i paid 500 for a professionally fitted one...now im being told its not a 100% fit...im v annoyed not sure whether to get saddler back out and swap but because its now been used nto sure where i stand....x
