Please don't laugh too hard, but I was wondering if anyone had ever thought about using some kind of rear view mirror when hacking out?! Since my fall last year, I find twisting in the saddle quite hard. Wondering if a mirror would help, not as twisting round replacement but a back up especially with EVs or bikes creping up behind. Looked at small bike mirrors, but not sure how I would attach to pony!!

These might work; I think I've seen cheaper versions

Oh I won't laugh at all! I had this for the last couple of years riding before I had to stop altogether, I got one of these, really useful to just wiggle my hand out a bit to see what great hefty piece of farm machinery was coming up behind me and how much room it was going to give me.

I totally get this!
We had a radar thing on the bikes which alerted us to people coming up behind us
This enabled us to drop into single file to give cars more room to pass.
Pretty sure it would work with horses!
Also!
Am I the only person who burst into meat loads rear view mirror when I saw the title?

Years ago you used to be able to buy a little mirror which clipped onto your stick, very similar to the wrist mirror in an above post.

I have often thought about this. I ride a bike with a mirror and find myself totally lost on a horse now not being able to see what is behind. Also of course so many bikes creeping up on us etc. Haven't read all the suggestions yet but very interested and certainly not laughing at your idea.

I’ve got one of these in the deep dark depths of my tack box. At the time of purchase I did use it and it was very useful, except now I would need to be wearing my glasses to be able to see it 😂😂🙈

I think I've seen cyclists with helmet-mounted mirrors - having looked on Amazon they do indeed exist. There seem to be quite a few options on how they are mounted so I won't post one link, but may be worth a look to see if you can find one that would fit a riding hat.
