Hi just wondering if anyone has any advice or similar experiences. I have a 15hh cob and I'm quite small so he's a strong horse for me at the best of times, he's 13 years old I've known him for about 4 years and owned him for 3, we mostly show jump occasionally xc and PC and other than the odd occasional bunny hop I've never had any behavioural issues with him until recently. He's always been sensitive to being told off but he's now started full height rearing and bucking when I tell him to do anything. I was schooling him tonight and shortened my inside rein to ask him to look towards the centre and he had a paddy resulting in rearing and bucking for 5 minutes. He's always been a dominant horse but he's being a bit aggressive towards other horses in his field now too. I'm a confident rider and can cope with his behaviour but i will not accept this, he's competed with me for the whole 3 years and I've never had any problem. He had a month off for winter but has been back in work for months now, his saddle was recently checked, he has no back problems and his teeth are fine. He's rearing at shows and pony club and it's becoming dangerous. Any help?!
