Hi all,

I'm looking at getting out and about a bit more this year but have no transport at all.

Since its only me and one horse this can be pricey!

Does anyone know of any companies big or small that rent small 3.5t lorries at a reasonable rate?

I don't own a suitable car to tow with nor do I have a license to tow so has to be small lorry.

Or else is there anyone in my area that has a lorry or tows that would like to half their costs by sharing? I'm happy to share driving and can pay for insurance etc.

I'm 26 so hoping insurance and things shouldn't be a problem for me (6 years no claims...)

I'd like to go to things like pleasure/ sponsored rides local shows etc nothing big, although might be tempted if it all goes well! Sometimes it would just be nice to box up and go for a ride in the hills!

I'm in Frome, Somerset.

Hey I'm looking for exact some thing I'm near chard might be able to box share or something I know some people locally that do transport :)

Seems to be a bit of a gap in the market... Might look into getting my own little lorry to use myself but also to rent out to people like us!

Chard is a bit far unfortunately to share easily... but thanks and I'll let you know if I find something!

I use a trailer company just in between Bristol and Wells and I believe as of June 15th they are getting a 3.5T horsebox for self hire, they are reasonable for trailers, but dont know what they will charge for a box! I go to frome alot so they will be about 25 mins from you!
If you search under horsebox hire / trailer hire bristol, you should find them! if not its Hire a Horse Trailer.com (i think), they are on fb.
Hope this helps, if not good luck.

It's about £80 I think, OP I was in touch when you posted, if your ever interested in going halves on a day hire if heading in same direction would make it economic.

Transport I was looking at hasn't turned out as is just to big

Thanks I'll keep you in mind... I'm thinking about getting a larger car in the future to tow with (will need to get a license first though) as the 3.5tonne idea is going to work out too costly! :(

Have a look at B.M.S horse transport on facebook; not sure if it's the right location for you, but they hire out a 3.5 tonne box for reasonable prices.
