I am looking to buy a youngster and have seen a very nice one by Rebelara out of stocky 16 hh TB mare.
Has anyone got any youngsters by this stallion and how big did they finish at, and how was the temperament regarding handling and breaking generally.

I had two and they were both fantastic. Unfortunatley my gelding was killed in Feb but I still have the filly who is 5 this year. She is trainable, willing and beautifu. Thay both had a tendancy to be a little lazy to begin with but they were both full RID's.

I spent ages looking for another Rebelara gelding when I lost my boy but they all seemed to be fillies. I love them both and they are/ were both a dream to break in but I believe the mare has a lot to do with the temp too.

My boy was 16.1hh when he died, just rising 5 and very short coupled and stocky out of a 15.2hh stocky RID mare and my filly is out of a 16.2hh mare and she stands at almost 17hh now but light limbed and compact. I love them and the stamp he puts on his youngstock.

Of other stock I have seen that he has produced they all seem to have a similar body stamp but vary quite a lot in height. The smallest one I have seen is Soldier of Fortune and he stands at 15.3hh but not sure what his dam was. He still carries the typical Rebelara look though with quite a bit of pink on the face which I adore.

Both were/are big movers and very comfortable to sit on with great jumping style and ability.. Both could be a little strong and opinionated from the ground (both mares have a tendancy for this though) but not at all when ridden

Hi Thanks for your reply, and so sad for your tragic loss of your lovely boy - what happened?
The Dam in my fillys case is full TB but stocky type and very laid back, she is a dark bay. The filly is dark bay and coat is scattered with white hairs so I wonder if she will go grey, and seems quite lazy, we shooed her to make her canter to see movement but she could not be bothered to go faster than a trot.
She looks about 13 hands already.
Mare is 16hh I would say but the four square type with shorter legs.
Rebelara was 16.1hh I understand.
Its very hard to estimate finished height I find but her legs from fetlock to hock are not taller than the dams, so I guess thats a good indicator.
Colour (so far) and markings are the same as half sister and Dam. both Dam and half sister are laid back types wonderful rides too.

If you like it then get it. Rebelara died, I think last year, and although there's still some semen there won't be that many more around. I've got no personal experience of him or his stock but he was one hell of a horse to watch.

I had a fall out hunting and he broke his neck.
Rebelara did die last year from a heart attack aged 15 and yes he was 16.1hh. I agree, there wont be many left soon and any of his stock will be in pretty high demand soon.
There are a couple of nice stallions I have seen by him but their youngstock is obviously diluted from him direct.
Unfortunatley my mare that I have broke her leg at a week old so she will never reach her true potential but she has to be the best put together horse I have ever looked at. Always the way!

I'd say buy it if you like her and of the two I have sat on they were/are both brill.

Ah good luck, post some pics too when you have them.
My mare is in work(up until 8foot of gut being removed last week!) but the break is within the moving part of the hock joint so unable to sustain too much pressure so she is limited to the amount of work it can handle unfortuntaley.
