Reccomend a grazing muzzle please! Can't do the girth up anymore!

My pony is getting very fat :( she has fat pockets on her shoulders and a crest- you can only just feel her ribs with hard pressure and despite being worked almost every day- the grass is just too much and she eats very fast so alot goes in!

I have had alook at grazing muzzles and the greengaurd ones seem very expensive, and I do not like the idea of the webbed ones as they look hard to breathe through- I have seen some with large holes for the nose but can't remember where- also she has sensitive skin so something that wont rub too much! I will put sheepskin over the rim to help.

Oh and she has a huge nose and despite being 14.2hh- takes full size headcollers and bridles! :P (done up on the tightest setting- but can only just squish a cob size on )

I can highly recommend these...
Ive been using them in my Shetland for the last 4-5 yrs and even managed to put the XL version on her Warmblood to great effect.
They are lightweight and don't rub, however do eventually wear, making them less restrictive so keep an eye on the bottom straps - my usually do a summer or two, then I replace them :)
 
I use the shires bucket ones on my ponies. Pad the top bit with lining from an old coat, or fake fur. There are also Roma ones in pretty colours but the rubber base is too thin and flexible and it only took a pony three hours to destroy it. And some with amazingly thick bases (can't remember make) but those tend to rub more.
 
We've been using the greenguard on borderline laminitic pony. He has lost alot of weight since wearing the greenguard so weight wise it's fab but for laminitics it allows them too much grassso he hasto go in a pen too. I also used a greenguard on and off on my ID for last 6-7 years and its very long lasting whereas both horse and pony have broken the bucket type muzzles in a few days.

I agree about the roma ones they are not fantastic my mare manages to take hers off now and again. also the hole seems slightly too small and i sometimes feel she won't try at all as its too much effort.

These muzzles are good but because the bottom of it is also made from webbing they quickly wear an even bigger hole through. I swore by them but got through 3 in quick succession.
If they are really clever they can also push on it so their mouth ends up in the nostril hole. I use the shires and best friend muzzles for my two, never rubbed. Just make sure you by one bigger that you need. I also cut away some of the webbing to allow better ventilation around the nose.
 
Thanks for all the replies, I have ordered the dinky one - horse is a bit stupid and will probably not figure out how to eat around it :p I will most likely buy another as a spare anyway so will look at the others mentioned
