hey, my instructor thought i should maybe start feeding my horse a little bit, he's a smidge (and i mean speck of a smidge) on the light side, very easy going laid back temp and don't want this to change, but could do with a little sparkle. ridden 6 days per week, mixture inc some fast hacks, and hour lesson, just starting to compete at rc level once/twice per month. 15.2ish 6 yr old, good grazing. instructor thought maybe calm and condition??

Calm & Condtion would be good, if he puts on too much condition, then drop a level to Ride & Relax, if he doesn't gain enough energy then go up to Power & Performance. Allen & Page find that a lot of people who feed C&C in the winter drop back to R&R in the summer, whilst the horses are getting loads of grass.

just go for a workin pencil if he his on nothing you dont want to put him straight on to a conditioning cube start light and little and work up if you have to!x

Is he not fed any hard feed at all atm? If not then i would just get cheap mix and some chaff and see how he gets on. Might find thats enough if you have lots of grass

All of ours, from the 16.2hh warmblood right down to the 14.2hh forester have one feed a day atm, chaff, cheap mix and some sugar beet with their supplements. The wramblood is in quite hard work, ridden around 6 days a week, the forester is in light work ridden 4 times a week and the other forester is undergoing being broken in. All fair well on this diet,

How about a feed balancer with some chaff, I am just taking my mare off of Ride and Relax as it seems to be making her a bit loopy!!

Spillers feedline are really helpful if you want to give them a call, Good luck in the minefield that is horse feed!!!
