I can never find any gloves to suit :(!

I have 'mild raynaud's' apparently- I duno I just think I have rubbish circulation... all i know is my hands get ridiculously cold to the point of painful. gloves don't help me out hacking as i need to ride along with my hands on my neck for warmth- but schooling they help a lot once i've warmed up.

I really need a good pair of waterproof gloves that are tight fitting very warm, tough and not too chunky to grip reins in !

I have the 'carrots' gloves at the moment, thermal ones which are fab for warmth and fit- couldnt reccomend a better glove for use of reins! but they are not waterproof and the thermal layering has come unstitched so a pain to get on.

I have very long fingers and often find it a problem with gloves not having fingers long enouhg for me, especially my very long little finger which causes me to drop the reins as I cannot grip them.

So its all a bit specific... any reccomendations ??

I have just got some rather lovely ariat insulated tek gloves. I have knobbly finger joints and cold hands and love these gloves because they are warm but without bulk. They were'nt cheap but I haven't had them long enough to comment on how they wear and how waterproof they are! It just hasn't rained yet! They don't claim to be waterproof so I don't expect they are, but they are warm and grippy and are a bit long in the finger compared to the same size Roeckl. Good luck with the glove hunt!

I get that too and second the Ariat insulated jobbies, about 40 quid from memory and they are ACE!! I must say though that they don't stop the cold completely but my fingers return to normal far quicker than with any other glove.

I can sympathise with the reynauds, its horrid. At one time I had to ride in feather filled mittens from a mountaineering shop! as they were they only thing which kept my hands warm, couldnt tolerate anything tight or round my fingers. Sealskins are ace and if you can wear a silk glove liner underneath they will help keep your hands warm.

I found sealskins had really short fingers.

I wear silk glove liners and either Shires gloves with a string back and leather palm or primark leather gloves with a fleece lining. Leather is waterproof enough for normal wear. Though I've just bought some gloves from decathlon that aren't bad.
