Hi

I'd looking into buying a single horse trailer for my 17.1hh, but most of them only seem to be made for up to 16.2hhs?

Can anyone reccomend any single horse trailers that are made for larger horses?

Thanks!

I would get a double trailer and take the partition out and put a full width breast bar in. It would be a lot more stable on the road!!
I agree with Scotsmore they probably don't make one due to the balance etc..!

Bob is 17hh and I bought a Rice trailer last year and took the partition out. I think it was a Europe. It was a lovely trailer, used it once and some thieving scroat helped themselves.

Sorry - still p*sses me off. Anyway, he was fine in it - had enough headroom when he stood normally.

Have now got a Rice Beaufort which is a 3 horse trailer (2 biggies and a pony). He fits fine in that. He's only stood in it as I found out a few weeks after buying it I was pregnant!!! So our plans for last year and this year are on the back burner.

Hmmmm.... good point.... unfortunately... I think a double trailer might be just over my little 4x4s towing limit for weight, I will have to investigate!

I could always borrow my OHs 4x4, but its a hilux and I'm not sure I would even make it out of the driveway with a trailer attached cos its so long!!!

Looks like this might end up being expensive.... (again!!!)

Sorry, but I would NOT recommend anyone use a single horse trailer, they are rarely very stable. get a double and take the partition out. Do some googling to look up the weights of them. Good luck.
