I dont know why I still have this as I sold this pony about 6-7 years ago but this is a copy of the receipt I received when I put the money down.
Received with thanks the sum of x as a deposit of huwil victory (boysie) 4 year old palamino welsh sec b gelding. Sold as seen

Full name and address of both parties.

State the horse's name, age, height, breeding, passport no. etc - all the details you have available to clarify exactly which horse it is.

Then the sale sum agreed, *if* subject to vetting, deposit of X amount paid, amount outstanding, date and signed.

That's just for a deposit. I do a more detailed one for the sale receipt to include what the horse has achieved competition wise, that it is free of vices, that is is 100% in all respects etc.
