Off work today still recovering from a virus and had a knock at the door - Yippee my new Tekna saddle had arrived!!

I was really impressed with it, went for the brown gp model and it is ideal.
Close up you can tell it's synthetic but from afar you would think it was leather. I have given up on leather saddles as my tack room is so damp the leather gets mouldy, and I have been looking for a reasonably price BROWN synthetic for a while.

I ordered a Medium width but it looked very narrow so i was a bit worried. However it had been a bit compacted in the delivery box so after a bit of stretching it looked better.

Took it to yard and tried it on Chico and the fit was actually really good. Good height above his withers, panels sat nicely on him and nothing seemed to pinch or poke!

So I popped a sheepskin half pad under it and took it for a sedate test drive. I found it a little harder in the seat than my gfs synthetic but felt it sat me in a much better position, feeling deeper in the seat and accommodated my large rear better than the gfs! :D

So all in all i am very pleased - well worth the money in my opinion :):)

Chico has very high withers and his back slopes away alot so the tree was actually a good fit on him - however i think people with wide flat horses may find the saddles are a bit like a banana on their horses.

I have heard good things about the dressage and jumping versions - not so good regarding their GP version. However as I want a little dressage saddle and a large jumping one I dont care about the GP! Glad your saddle is good and you are happy.

I ordered the dressage saddle for my Section D - have been having a nightmare trying to fit something to her. Got the wide one and am thrilled. It has good clearance over her very stumpy wither without looking 'perched' like so many have. It sits nice and flat on her back and has a goos shoulder width. Rellay pleased so far and just about to order the GP version :)

Thank you for this post, I'd not come across these saddle's before. I have a 19yo I'm looking for a new saddle for and also 3yo to back next summer so have been looking for light weight saddle's for both, How does the weight of these compare to other saddle's, Thanks

I'm really liking the look of these Saddle's, both the GP and the jumping versions. anyone have a jumping version of the saddle?
