recommedations for an economical towing vehicle.

So, its looking more and more like we are going to have to buy another 4x4. We have been very very lucky these past few years as my OH's work car has been a discovery!! ut we think thats about to die a natural death, so need something to replace it!!
It needs to tow an ifor williams 505, with a carriage extension, carriage and a 12.2hh pony!
Also, we think it will probably be more economically sound for me to have it for work, I only drive about 10 miles a day, where as OH's journey is about 30 miles each way, so he will take my car (as it is now).
So, what do you tow with, and is it economical, etc etc.

Older style Kia Sorento - if you do a 'search' there are loads of posts recommending them.

Economical, good towers, and also nice driving cars - I have had mine for 7 yrs and have had no problems.

I used to tow trailers some years ago & I checked on economy of suitable tow vehicles when on a limited budget. To be honest I didn't find anyeconomical ones so I bought a Discovery & bit the bullet.

Two of my friends have got Kia Sorrento's for towing 505s. One is on her 2nd Kia. They seem to be nice cars, very comfy/spacious/easy to drive, and tow fairly well if you've got 2 small-medium pony/horses or one horse. Don't think they're up to 2 big horses in a 505 though.

Mind you, one of them towed me and my Fourtrak out of deep cow manure/straw/mud bog the other week - I thought the poached area in front of the fieldshelter was drier than it was and decided to drive backwards and forwards over it a few times to "roll" the area ... I sank to axles and grounded my poor Fourtrak so even with 4wd I couldn't get out until I had a tow.
