As per title I want to treat my labrador to a new bed and am seeking recommendations. The cheaper the better, however I don't mind spending more if the product is good and value for money.

She is not a chewer or a wetter, however in the winter she gets dirty, she is rubbed off but it needs to be washable. I have had cheap and expensive beds over the years some good some bad, would welcome your recommends please.

I have the cheap and cheerful plastic ones (2 x cavaliers) and I bought a big piece of thick vetbed which cut up into at least 4. It washes and dries in half a day, and when my old JRT was incontinent I could wash the vetbed and mop the plastic and have it back in service with another of the pieces of vetbed straight away. My two love it, they are both not so young and spend most of their day and night in them. Not swanky or looking expensive but they do the job really well.

recently bought a Tuffies with waterproof cover plus some vet bed to go on top-dog very happy. I also have a thermatex dog blanket and coat which are brilliant for damp dogs.

the vet bed was £23 from amazon for a 3m roll, really good value

Second the Tuffie, you can hose it! My lot seem to prefer it out of the cage liner, Kuranda off the floor thing. I have the big comfy bed that fits all three in the lounge, but it's not practical for wet dogs.

Thank you for your suggestion but during the daytime she likes to sleep all stretched out and I would require an enormous plastic bed which would take over the sitting room! Liking the idea of vetbed though.

Motherofchickens and Cinnamontoast thank you for your suggestions, just had a look at tuffies, they do look good. My only concern is are they soft enough, she is 7 now so I want to look after her joints, I know how much I stiffen up when I sleep on too firm a mattress?
What bed do you use in the lounge CT. I do towel her off when she comes in so I wouldn't mind just a washable cover.

Thank you for the link, everything looks fab, however a little more than I want to spend!

Yeah I thought that, they are expensive yes, but they're great. My dog has achey joints and these are sympathetic beds that she does not want to get out of. You can can 10% off if you like their FB page. They have end of season sales too.

Ok thanks for that tip about the 10% off, I will have a proper look, have you had yours long? If I spend that much I want it to last!

When your dog comes in wet and muddy equafleece with the polo neck and long front legs are great for drying off in no time and save bed washing. I have them for my flatcoats and they never over heat in them and dry off in about 30 minutes.

I posted a thread like this a while back asking the same thing! my dog is 11 and on metacam for his hips-I wish I had bought a tuffie years ago tbh, it really is very good and he loves it. They are not so firm as to be uncomfortable or so soft as for him to struggle to get out of or to squish. I bought the extra large as he loves to spread out and its also the first time in a fair while when I've seen him sleep on his back with his paws in the air like he did when he was younger. I bought the vet bed to keep him warmer.

The Tuffie is well padded and comfy, I'd say.

The lounge bed is in my pic above. It has a foam mattress, washable covers, they use the edges like pillows and it fits all of them. It's from TKMaxx but I've never seen more since.

I'll add a vote for Tuffies - we have various sizes and dogs ranging from 15yo terriers to 9yp lurcher to spaniel pups and even the arthritic section get up and down no problem and love them. I pop a piece of vet bed on top if they're wet then chuck it in the wash, it's dry in half and hour hanging over the Aga.
