Hi folks
I'm looking for recommendations for a general purpose saddle for a young just backed horse. He'll be doing a range of activities including schooling, hacking, jumping over the next couple of years so i'm looking for something that would suit a variety of activities. He'll also be changing shape a lot so if anyone has experience with saddles that have changeable gullets and the like then please feel free to add! Haven't really got a price in mind, just want something comfortable and safe for my boy. (Realise it all will depend on what fits us but people's experiences good and bad would be great!)

I bought a Kent & Masters leather GP with interchangeable gullets. I love it. Really comfortable, soft leather, moveable knee roll things. Also comes in high wither. RRP new about £650.

I bought a Thorrowgood for our baby while he was backed but actually my daughter really likes it and its a nice light saddle, we have decided to keep it for now!
Its a T4 and was about £300. I believe Kent and Masters are the same company just the leather version. The fact they are so easy to alter is great and the gullets are easy to get hold of.

Well that's good to know that the interchangeable gullets are easy to use! Once he's a bit older I'll probably go for a dressage saddle and a jumping saddle but for now I think it would be a waste of money

thanks
