When my boy was weenie he got sceptic bronchitis & made his respiratory system very sensitive. It is easily managed on a day-to-day basis, like a horse with COPD/RAO (what evr you wish to call it) & it has only effected him once before.

The problem im havign at the moment is that due to the rubbish weather & the fields slowly turning to sludge our YO has restricted T/O to only a few hours a day. I think this extra time in his box is making his breathing noticably louder than normal when exerting himself when ridden. Its not laboured & his performace is still tip top.

I have used wendals herbs respiratory before when this sort of thing happened & it appeared to work ok but with there such a variety of prducts on the market i wondered if anyone had any suggestions on an alternative products ( ideally not the most expensive ones!) & what similar symptoms they treated on your horses?

Thanks in advance

Stinky can occasionally get a bit of a dry cough. I feed him hay as he does not get on with hayledge and it is difficult to soak it where I am so he has it dry in his haybar.

This year I have fed him clarity from feedmark and he has not had any signs of a snotty nose or the cough. He did get a cough in the autumn whilst still living out and this cleared it up very quickly, hence he will stay on it until he is back out on grass in the spring.

Not too expensive and for him, has really helped.

Thanks Peeps!

I have one of those licks in a tub somewhere - which i forgot about! I will try that for a bit & if that doesn't work i'll investigate into the other products!

Its just one of those things if i went to a saddlery and asked for their advice the staff wouldn' have a clue what actully works & point me in the direction of the most expesive thing they have!

Thanks guys for your suggestions
