Its easier to look at the ones to avoid than the ones to go with. E&L and Animal Friends both have a poor reputation on this forum. I've no experience with either personally. Then go for something like the H&H comparison site and see who gives a reasonable deal for the cover you want. I've used SEIB, KBIS and NFU in the past - all happily. But for all sorts of reasons now no longer bother with vets fees insurance.

I was looking at vets fees for any major problems but I am hoping that day will never come.

Friend is going through a claim with Amtrust at the moment. Ought to be straightforward. Let's just say her new horse is insured with Petplan!
I'm with NFU, have had 3 bid claims in tee last 2 years, including a mortality, and have had no problems. Was very surprised that the premium for one horse hardly increased despite a nearly £4k claim and hitting 16. Nervously awaiting this year's renewal after another £5k claim though.

Another vote for NFU. They're not the cheapest, but when I had a terrible run of bad luck in 2014 (lost 2 in under 3 months) they were brilliant to deal with. And again only a short time later when my new boy was kicked and needed stitches and a stay at the vets.
