recommend me a body protector :)

as title!! its nearly time to back my beastie :) I seem to have misplaced my body protector - it didn't fit anyway! So I need a new one, reasonably priced :) but comfy!!! all suggestions welcome :) I like the look of the racesafe ones? they look the least restrictive!
 
Airowear Outlyne, especially designed for female riders to fit our shape, very very comfy and flexible, i can squish mine into a ball after i've ridden when its all warm, adjustable velcro straps on the sides and shoulders so you can adjust the bp accordingly to amount of clothing you're wearing underneath, can buy additional xc shoulder pads which attatch by velcro, does up at the front with a zip, has strap over the zip to secure it even more, moulds to your body shape as it warms up while you're riding. i cannot reccomend it enough. good luck with finding the right one :)
 
I will be buying a new body protector in the spring when I back my youngster too, so I have been scoping out which one to buy. I liked the look of the new Woof Wear one, as it appears to have a short back and is reasonably priced, around £70 I think. I don't want a long back to be catching the saddle the first few times I ride him, everything needs to go as smooth as possible! I haven't yet tried on this type of body protector so can't comment on the fit, but it is one I will be looking into. I have an old Airowear (childs xl!) from when I was younger that I still manage to squeeze into, but really need one that fits better so I might think about getting an adult Airowear as they're a nice fit an fair price.
 
Bear in mind that the Kan will not need replacing either routinely (3-4years) or after a heavy fall. The foam does not degrade over time, and the distribution of force through it on impact works in a different way to others'. Also the Kanteq customer service is second to none!
 
racesafe all the way, they meet the new 2009 BETA standard which not all the others do. At least then if event organisers change rules to say the new standard must be worn you are covered.
 
Another vote for airowear outlyne! Fab fab fab, have recommended this to many of my friends, all of which are now fans too.Good value for money, vvvvvvv comfortable/flexible.
 
I love my Racesafe and I don't think I would buy a different one! That said i struggle to wear a BP that has a solid back if you see what i mean as i have a few problem with my back generally and the Racesafe BP has separate squares which helps.

It is very comfortable and I normally forget im wearing it. They are not cheap but in my opinion they are definitely worth it!

see, this is my problem !! I have a bit of a dodgey back and usually wear a prolite back support - I have a naturally arched back so thought the race safe would fit me best! my other was a charles owen - and not great!

thanks everyone :) Looks like airowear annd racesafe are the two contendors! however the kanteq also sounds worth a look - Im off to rideaway and a few other places next weekend so I wanted some brands to try on so they dont try an sell me some other sh.. .i. ..t... ... e :)

OH has suggested bubble wrap .. hmm!!
