As title really,
I'm looking for something to read cover to cover as opposed to a reference book.
Would like it not to be too heavy going too and written in 'English'
Have seen equine nutrition and feeding by David Frape but I think it may be a bit hard work!

"Nutrient requirements of horses" - NRC

Its expensive and may take a while to read as its very dense, but its an absolute bible. Everything you'll ever want or need to know, you can find it there.

I am currently reading 'feed your horse like a horse' by Dr Getty. It's got a lot in it but fairly easy to read. It is recommended reading for the coursera course run by Edinburgh uni.

I like this one too - it's comprehensive but written in plain English, and split into the 'fundamental' sections which look at each component of feed in turn - forage, vitamins, minerals, carbs, protein etc and then 'issue-related' sections - feedng for particular ailments, ages of horse etc.

Agree with Dr Getty's book she also has a website with library and Tips which are useful.

Feed xl has good newsletters which you can read for free and KER has resource avaliable on line but they are in the business of promoting products so do read carefully.

Thanks guys, will look into all of these. I really admire David Marlin as a nutritional expert but as far as I'm aware he has no actual books. Unless anyone can point me in the direction of one?
