My saddle has started to slip back so I'm thinking I should invest in a breastplate so I don't have to get off every 15 minutes to readjust.

Saddle has recently been reflocked and fitted by a master saddler - it just keeps moving

I don't have a budget in mind - I'd prefer to pay for quality than have something fall apart after a few uses

I love my Mark Todd deluxe one. It looks like a tradional hunting breastplate but attaches to the girth straps instead of the D rings of the saddle. Leather is lovely quality and it looks really smart. It doesn't have any elastic inserts but I'm not a fan of those anyway.

I have a few - an Evision Equine 5 point one that is beautiful, an ancient Jefferies hunting breastplate, and an elastic breastgirth I bought in a tack shop in Poland.

All are good for their purpose
