As the title says. I have a budget of about £60-£70 which would need to include reins. For that amount is it possibe to get something that isn't cheap foreign leather? Needs to be:

Black
Preferably cavesson
For a Welsh D so cob sized
Would prefer a raised nose band and browband but nothing too fancy

Have seen a few I like on the internet for that price but without seeing them in the flesh I have no idea of quality.

I do like that one but it only comes with plain reins, so I would have to go out and buy rubber grip ones. Sorry I should have said that.

Does anyone own either of these:

They both look nice, but I have always thought of Rhinegold as being a bit cheapy. I like the way the flash is removeable though. The noseband on the heritage one looks quite thick.

I thought that would be the case but some german leather, such as my current Lemetex bridle, is actually quite nice. You really need to be able to look at a bridle to feel the quality don't you.

I think the other one you have linked to is probably the cavesson version of the one I posted. How ever do they sell anything with a picture like that!

After much deliberation I bought the Heritage comfort bridle. The lady on the phone said it one of their most popular bridles and is good quality leather, at a great price, so we will have to wait and see.

Head to Hoof is an amazing website. I ended up spending £130 because everything on there is so reasonable. Woops!
