Im looking at treating my Sec D do a new bridle. We dont really do showing and I have a bridle suitable for that if we do. Im looking for a comfort headpeice that is cutaway behind the ears. I really like the look of the Sabre Cordoba and Jeffries IR. Can anyone advise just how dark the havanna are on these? Im looking for dark as possible. Many thanks!

I don't know anything about either of those bridles but I did buy a Mark Todd 'fancy stitch' bridle for mine a few months back. That has a nice padded headpiece although not cut away, and the noseband strap goes through some slots on the headpiece and over the top as opposed to under so doesn't put any additional pressure on the head. It does have a crank noseband which I didn't really need but it's not too hefty and is again, nice and padded. The version i got had a detachable flash (edit - looks like this is the ony version) as well which I use for when I am jumping but, other than that I use it as a cavesson the rest of the time. I thought the bridle was reasonably priced and came with reins plus it looks smart and the leather is nice and supple and soft.

I recently bought a lovely bridle from englishbridles.co.uk. Its very dark havana and came with rubber reins . I actually bought the sale one which is shown with a normal headpiece but spoke to the lady on the phone and she put a comfort headpiece on and also as it was a full size that was in the sale she swapped the cheeks to cob sized so it was a better fit for my cob. Lovely quality and a great service. can recommend their crystal browbands too!

I have the IR in havana and it is very dark brown. I found this bridle came up much bigger than my other bridles (Kieffer, Albion, Passier etc). It is lovely and padded though.
