Hello everyone

I am in the market for a new bridle for my new boy (15.2 Cob gelding) - and was thinking about getting a comfort bridle for him. He is currently in a loose ring french link snaffle bit, and his bridle has a flash, purely to keep his nose net in check really. There seem to be oodles of comfort bridles out there, so I was hoping you guys could point me in the direction of a good reliable brand.

I have also read that comfort bridles can negate the poll pressure that some bits require, I am assuming this wouldn't be an issue with the bit I am using anyway?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Serephin.

I have had two comfort bridles, one Elevator and one Frank Baines.

The Elevator (retailing at about £160 new I think) was gorgeous. The leather was buttery soft and it truly felt like the most comfortable thing you could put on a horse. Never felt anything like it.

The Frank Baines is IMHO gorgeous too. The leather isn't as soft, but then retailing for £80 you wouldnt expect it to be in the same class. It is however a very smart and comfy bridle, the leather will soften with time and balm and my horse goes very well in it.

Both came with crank flash nosebands BTW.

Hope that helps.

I have the Albion Comfort Bridle with cavesson noseband. It's so soft and still looks like new and my mare goes well in it.

I've got the Keiffer one as well and it is gorgeous. It was £99 ish, has a crank noseband and flash and is black and white leather. It looks really nice and is very soft. I'd recommend it :D
