As title basically.
Have two dogs, one is a rescue and gets very restless and agitated in the back of the car when I'm driving, which I find distracting even though there's a dog guard in place so the dogs can't physically jump around onto me or in the car, so it feels like a good time to think about travelling them crated - have thought of this before but having got the rescue dog relatively recently its brought it into focus again.
Think it would be best to separate both dogs whilst travelling as rescue dog jumps over little man, which then upsets and freaks him out, so am looking for either a double crate OR two singles, whichever really.
As there is a dog-guard already in place, have looked at separator/dividers combined with the tail-gate cages so if you open the back hatchback the dogs can't immediately jump out. But these seem hugely over-priced for what is, essentially, a piece of metal grille!!
Which is why I'm looking at "crates".
Have looked at the custom-built ones, gosh they'd be about £500 for my car (Subaru Forester). Gulp, yes they may be fantastic and all the rest of it but by heck that's a lotta dosh.
Have also looked at the cheaper end of the market (e-bay/Amazon etc) and have seen some aluminium ones (which you have to put together yourself, yeahh, right, mebbe that's OK, maybe not).
Has anybody got any recommendations please? Or ones to avoid?
