Hiya :) I've looked through old threads but the horses are different to mine!
Little bit of info: 15.3 kwpn mare, 7yo, alrounder, not out competing and won't be aff / non aff for at least a year, mainly schooling and hacking.

was with animal friends, but after she was kicked by another horse they have decided all lower limbs (cannon bones specifically ) are excluded from my policy, unless I upgrade to 650 a year. ! A little pricey for something that wasn't her fault!
Panyway, could anyone recommend me one? Looking for maybe around 100 excess, just so that if anything happened *touchwood it doesnt* I am covered .
thanks :)

I've always found NFU very good - not the cheapest but very easy to deal with and if you do need to claim then cheapest is not always best! I wouldn't recommend E&L for that very reason.

South Essex are great. Paid out tjousands on 3 horses Not cheap when compared to the one you were with. But as you've found out there are reasons they are cheap.

Just going with the above really - always found NFU good, they took their time checking all the vets records etc for a big claim I sadly had to make, but then paid without a problem. I have had them pay out without a quibble for other claims in the past. Also agree stay away from E&L.
