Desperately needing some boot advice! Can anyone help?

I prefer something with good ankle support ( nothing that lets you overly flex - my legs are busy enough as it is! ) currently love MH rimfrosts but now i need a competition boot, rimfrosts are great for the yard but not for competing an my dublin aristocrats have totally had it - and because of the laces my leg is all over the shop in them :)

Any recommendations? Need to buy them for the weekend

Also any good tack shops with a good selection in Berks/Bucks? Am thinking i might pop to bury farm - whats it like for boots?

Don't know if they'd work for you because they are so lovely and soft they may be in the "overly flex" bracket (see what others think) but I ADORE my Ariat Bromonts. I can really feel the horse's side in them and they are extremely comfy, I have the insulated version cos they are my hunting boots! They look good too.

Mountain Horse High rider (the new version...?) really soft leather that moulds to you, very comfy. I tried the Bromonts too and thought the fit was lousey - I have what I would call normal legs:D

are bromonts laced at the front?
Yes but only in front of the ankle region, not all the way up...if that makes sense (and is accurate - may have to go and have a look at mine!). Not really noticeable or I wouldn't like them as a smart boot, think they are just an elasticated lace insert for comfort/movement.

Thought more about heel support and the soles are very supportive, the uppers are just lovely and comfy and give you that real "squished on your horse" feel.

I have just bought Ariat bromonts for hunting and am very pleased with them, they were really comfortable but the suede bit was hard to clean, still have mud marks now and mud got jammed in the lace up bit, so Ill have to see how they go having said that it was a really muddy day.

thanks everyone - in the end i tried on a million boots ( all rubbish ) but then i tried the bromonts - they fitted amazingly well! am so chuffed with them they look smart enough for dressage - thanks everyone!
