Recommend me a riding school in West Yorshire please

Well not for myself but my friend at work has just asked me if I know of any good riding schools, for her young daughter.

They live in Castleford, so it needs to be somewhere near that area, she could have a look on the net but obviously word of mouth works just as well and I know there will be plenty of Yorkshire peeps that will have some suggestions.

Well, i know of a great one just over the border in North Yorkshire. The one I am talking about is Hillcroft farm in Sicklinghall on the link below.

They have great horses, hacking etc and taught me everything I know - although, not sure if thats such a good recommendation!!!

Think it needs to be nearer Castleford...so areas like Garforth, Swillington, Allerton by Water, Pontefract, Rothwell etc...but yes thank you for your suggestions and keep em coming.

Middleton Park EC - its in Leeds, excellent horses, and chance to go hacking.

Try Royds Hall at Rothwell/Swillington...they are good with kids, taught my son to ride ...

Throstle Nest at Silkstone is good, but may be too far away. Sue Baxter teaches there now, but I was taught by her parents Charles and Dianna, when they had a school in Huddersfield. They were good and I think they still teach some of the children.

They've just opened a new one IN castleford. Seen billboards for it all over - indoor school and stuff. Can't for the love of me remember the name so that renders my post totally useless. Will have a think.

i live in castleford! She could try astley riding centre near swillington or darrington riding centre in Darrington. I went to Saxton riding school and there's middleton equestrian that is quite good too. Theres quite a few in our area.
I learnt to ride at royds in rothwell area, but i wasnt impressed with that one.
