Need a heavyweight standard neck high denier turnout rug for my WBxID/TB mare, not much available locally it seems, only real option was a Masta Zing 350g. Tried a 6'6, fitted chest but too long and stuck out like she had a plank under it, swapped it for a 6'3 but too small across her chest, only just reached edge to edge.
Looking at ebay, Weatherbeeta or Premier Equine, have old Weatherbeeta's (too small) and they're ok, never tried the other, are they true to size? She has quite big shoulders and I prefer darted rugs for this

Any recommendations please?

Weatherbeeta freestyle are very good, I find they fit nicely around the shoulder and are quite tough - my pony has yet to destroy his at least!

I like Mark Todd rugs, they seem to fit a few different horse shapes!
They are nice quality too, 350gm and high denier.
I've also had a Shires combo, think it was the stormcheeta, that seemed quite deep and generous round the front.
I think that was 400gm aand 1600 denier.

Get an Axiom off ebay. Fabulous rugs. Very high denier and excellent quality. They're half the price of similar quality rugs. They also fit many horses well. They come up pretty standard in size

I would recommend having a good look on eBay. You can get some really great rugs for bargain prices.
I got a medium full neck high denier rug for £30 (5'9) and it's brilliant- think the brand was Titan.
Likewise I bought a lightweight full neck for £13 but I can't remember the brand, and it's faired better than a weatherbeeta one I bought him.

Shires are worth a try. If I can't afford to get a Rambo I generally opt for Shires as they are good qaulity for the price.

This this this! I also have a WB x ISH mare who takes a 6'6" and Axiom rugs are fantastic. I love Weatherbeetas too and they would probably always be my first choice, but Axiom rugs are much more affordable, fit well and are hard-wearing too. Only rug my mum's Appy hasn't ripped! They do sometimes come in funny patterns though.

I can't get the hang of Mastas... always a weird fit on mine!

Axiom rugs are only available on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AXIOM-180...t=UK_Horse_Wear_Equipment&hash=item19e74c3d5a
