Recommend me a saddle fitter in the north west that will fit to a TB

Hi,

Can anyone recommend me a really good saddle fitter that will maybe part exchange my current saddle. I currently have a saddle company event saddle but I am now looking for a dressage saddle for my boy as our aspirations have slightly changed due to our unfortunate circumstances but we are back on track and have been given the go ahead to start work again.

Also can anyone recommend what make/kind of dressage saddle are best suited to TB's so I know what I can be looking out for?

Janet Blackburn of just saddles in very good. She fits horses for thoroughbred rehabilitation centre so has lots of experience with tbs. I have a tb and been pleased with the saddle I have off her. Her details are on her website just saddles

Not used Crewe Saddlery but heard they're good

I've used Crewe for years, The bloke from village was very dismissive of my old boy, he was very wide and he insisted we wouldn't get anything off the peg. Crewe brought me several that did and I chose one.

Id avoid village saddlery like the plague. Crewe have a good reputation, as does the lady based out of foxes riding school on the Wirral (can't remember her name). I have used Keith from l for leather in the past with success but had his daughter out recently and wouldnt have her again.

Have a look at Heritage saddlerys website Matty Marlow is a star. They are based in Stockport.

She breeds Fell ponies and is a Master saddle fitter but fitted my Thoroughbred as a 3yr old. Can't recommend her enough. Will be having her out to fit to my other 3yr old Thoroughbred as well soon.

We all use village in my yard and he's recommended by my phisio friend, have found him excellent, although very busy as with most has as very good reputation which spans a wide distance bit don't expect any bargains you pay for what you get .

I would second Keith from L for Leather. He found me a great secondhand saddle for my TB mare and he is very good about part exchange - he took back the previous saddle I bought from him and knocked the full amount I had paid for it (10 weeks earlier) off the new one! Very good of him. Not had the daughter so can't comment but I would want Keith himself as he's done a great job for me.
