Recommend me a sweetitch rug

I prefer snuggy hoods to boetts although also not cheap. I find their design better, they are easier to get on and off and the hood is separate to the rug so if the hood gets trashed or the rug gets trashed you only have to replace the trashed part not the whole lot.
Also snuggy hoods do an excellant repair services so usually a trashed rug can be repaired and not have to be replaced.
 
I've got a sec D too, and I find with the rambos they're tight around the chest. Though they are tough and I do recommend them if they fit well!
Will be buying a snuggy hood for next year though, the coverage seems much, much better!
They were all on sale on derby house webpage (rambos reduced to £85 and snuggy hoods to £128) yesterday so could be worth having another look :)
 
Boett - Exspensive but good, mines in its 6th year, no rips, just a few plucks. Friend defected from boet and got a snuggy hood, yes they are easier to get off, however her mare managed to get it half off one night in the field, she panicked and trashed meters of post and rail and was very extremely sore and traumatised for quite a while. Not a good thing for a sweet itch sufferer to be afraid of rugs!
 
I bought a Pagony, which is a cheapy imitation version of a Boett; don't bother basically. Quality's rubbish!

I've got a Pessoa Sweet itch hoody; brilliant if you can find one! Robinsons had them in their sale last year, I've not seen any anywhere since tho'.

Premier Equine Sweet itch hoody OK ish, but a little tight across the chest. Rambo sweet itch hoody OK.

Not tried snuggy hoods; am seriously discouraged because they're lycra are they not? I had a lycra hoody thing for my boy once and it came down over his eyes and he was up in the field just standing looking sorrowful. Plus Snuggy Hoods aren't cheap.
 
The DeMeulenkamp rug from Solva Icelandics is brilliant for chunky types, it fits my ID well & he's a big boy. Very similar to the Boett but a bit cheaper. I've always had excellent service from them & the rugs have worn well.

Me too, I use the DeMeulenkamp for my Section D. It was a perfect fit and no midgies or flies got in. Excellent quality, Identical to Boett but didn't cost the earth!

my snuggy is in its 5th year and has outlived any other rug as he is a hooligan. I found my boett moved more than the snuggy, there was always a gap at the top of the ears which was rubbed raw as the facial hood always came up the neck.
Mine managed to get his boett or was it his demulenkamp ( he has had both and the only difference between the two of them is price ) hood over his face too so he could not see, luckily he just stood there unlike your friends horse so was not traumatised.

I think that can happen with any sweetitch rug where a sweetitch resistant hood is used.
