Hi :)

I am going to be stabling my horse for the first time this winter, I want a little token feed, he is currently out of work, will be doing light work... only hacking and light schooling.... i would like to avoid fizzy feeds and not interested in mixes/nuts as such so was thinking along the lines of grass pellets/speedi beet etc?

He is a tb x, does well at grass in summer but weight tends to drop off when grass is poor.

Grass pellets are reasonably high calorie.

You would be better off either just feeding a little chaff, hi-fibre cubes or cheapo pony nuts, or a balancer.

2nd vote for balancer, in speedibeet would be more than ample... if you wanted a feed for him when bringing into work and keep it cool check out spillers cool concentrate- lets you feed small amount but has all vits/minerals you need, eliminates need for a balancer, its pretty cool tbf :)
