Thinking about buying a training roller for the baby horse (rising 3). She is fine with an elasticated roller, but I think we could do with an intermediate between that and the saddle, probably one I can attach a normal girth and breastplate to. Any recommendations of what is good and what to avoid? I don't really use rollers with the older horses, so haven't bought one before....

Thing is - they are really all much of the same. You can get the most expensive branded one and the most basis non branded one and they will all pretty much do the same. Which is - I suspect - why no-one replied.

Some are more elastic than others (which is not always a blessing). Some are sheepskin lined. Some have an arch over the spine to reduce pressure. Some don't. Some are single buckle, some have buckles on both sides and a piece like a dressage girth. (I'm not aware of any that would fit with a standard girth) Depending on your breastplate design it would probably fit to more or less anything - but it would be easier with the ones with several rings rather than the type with only the one for side reins.

Pay your money and take your choice I think!
