Recommend me a Veterinary Practice

I have just heard that the Vets that I use and I am very much fond of are closing at the end of the month. This has come as a little bit of a shock so I would like to get registered at an alternative practice as soon as possible to ensure I am able to get a Vet out when I need one!

I am based between Doncaster and Scunthorpe and the Vets that I was using that are Closing are Minister Vets based at the Yorkshire Wildlife park.

Any suggestions of who to use (and just as importantly who not to) would be very much appreciated!

Ledston are about an hour away which they may cover me for the routine call out but in an emergency it is worryingly far! I'll drop them an email and see if they are willing to put me on the books!
 
Churchfield Vets at Penistone are fantastic - Phil is wonderful, as is Tom although he has a very strong Irish accent that can be difficult to understand at times!

Not sure if they are close enough for you?
 
The main equine practice in York isn't closing, just the associated unit at Doncaster. Can your current vet not recommend another equine practice in the area?

They are also about an hour away, I think it may be register with the closest and then keep all the numbers of the others for the just in case book.

I know its just the associated unit but it is the one that I have to go through. I have asked if I am close enough to York to stay on their books but no reply yet.

It is worth asking the question of who they would recommend in the area.

They used to use Minster, as they were originally based on the same site. Then the practice moved from the Northern Racing College to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. There are the Vets at Moorhouses but when I needed them in an emergency they couldn't get to me for at least 1 hour, probably more likely an hour and half.

It's nice to have options close by but I feel a little bit lacking in them at the moment!
 
Peter Hynes covers that area,has new vet started in that area she is very good and very nice also. I'd strongly recommend him, knows his stuff and listens. His mobile is 07824873533
