I have absolutely knowledge of what I need really but basically, I just want to be able to video my horse competing (well, actually I want to get someone else, probably OH, to video us competing!).

Budget is £150 so has anyone got one they rate?

We event so will need to be able to zoom and follow a horse SJ and XC.

Thankies!

If your not wanting you shoot anything too fancy and want amazing quality combined with ease of use I'd go for the tiny FLIP. I'm actually into video in quite a big way and find I don't really use anything else anymore.

Its incredibly easy to use - just an on /off, good zoom, play, forward and fastforward.

But two amazing things about it. Despite its tiny size it HD quality - and it really is pretty fabby. As with most cheapish camera's it loses quality as you zoom but to be honest you'd be looking at a £400+ camera that didn't.

It shoots straight onto its 50 min hard drive so you don't have to spend money on tapes / discs etc.

But even better is that you connect it to your computer with a pop up USB drive. You literally just stick it into your laptop and away you go,

The only down side is that because it is so small , shake and shudder can be magnified. So I'd advise buying either a cheap monopod or a cheap tripod - they aren't expensive at all and also means you've got the flexibility of filming yourself if nobody is about.

Its great fun and comes in cool colours too .

The Flip

You can buy it in loads of places but heres one as a guide
