Just wanting some recommendations for dog insurance. Had tescos for 5 years and Tay and Ash were 25 each. Sadly Tay died so only had ash insured for 5 months but then when we got Nula I called for a quote to add her on and was told 35 per month so I said I would shop around. Have insured her with paws and claws, would appreciate anyones experience with them please, got letter today from Tesco with my new policy that includes my recent changes and now ash is 35 per month and they have added nula at 45 per month. WTF!! Can anyone recommend good reasonably priced insurance they are both malamutes ash is 3 and nula is 6. Thanks.

Im with Animal Friends mainly because of good reviews on here and Black Cob had endless problems with her dog but they continued to pay. You never know how good these companies are until you make a claim which I have and I have to say I was very impressed. One of my dogs did his cruciate and I contacted AF for pre-authorisation which they gave me verbally and sent me the forms immediately. When I took my dog to the hospital I handed over the forms and they said everything was in order and his op went ahead. Ive contacted Langford since about a problem he had and they told me AF payed within a fortnight, we are going back just over a weeks time for his follow up xray and to talk about hydrotherapy which is all covered by Insurance.

I would heartily recommend them, for obvious reasons with any claim you have to have all your i dotted and your ts crossed, i found the girls very helpful in the office and they all rang me back as promised. I am currently paying £16.70 a month for £4,000 cover, I was very lucky that Langford had a special offer on and I was quoted £1,750, it has gone over that as he did have a few problems constantly getting at his stitches and removing his cone and I did seem to be going there daily. I cant fault AF or Langford, my problem will be when the policy is due for renewal, but if his other cruciate goes which is very common Im covered for a year from his first op and then its excluded. Ive no idea what my next premium will be but that would be the same with any Insurance company as I havnt Insured for life.
