I really feel the need to upgrade my smart-items collection.. and at the minute the only competition suitable jods I have are an ancient pair of white caldene ones that I've had since I was 14 (they aren't particularly forgiving).

Can anyone recommend me something suitable? I really fancy some off-white ones with a grey full seat.. does such a thing exist and could anybody please tell me where to find them? :D

Not sure about grey seat but I have Pikeur Lugana breeches
For comps and they are gorgeous and So comfy!

They come in a wide range if colours too :) they are pricey though but extremely good quality and aren't see through :D

I buy all of mine from Derby House www.derbyhouse.co.uk. Their own brand are good quality, not see through at all and they do a wide range of brands too, all at reasonable prices. They quite often have sales on too so you can get a bargain - I bought 2 pairs of breeches from Derby House a couple of months ago, reduced from £45.99 down to £12.99 each! They have been great so far, got some beige ones and some black ones, beige ones for competitions and black ones for every day riding.

Ooh they look good- thanks for that- between your response to this and my bridle thread I may have to employ you as some kind of advisor!

:D

I used to work in a saddlery/feed store type place, and got to see stuff as Reps brought them round "pre-season", and also to see what customers bought and would recommend etc. We had a good bunch of customers who would come in regularly and tell us that the pair of jods they'd bought last time have never come clean, or seem to wash perfectly every time...or whatever. They would also recommend them to other customers too!!

the caldene are quite old fashioned in as much as they are largely cotton, but with a sticky bum fabric on the seat. They are really comfortable, and warm, and they are flattering (even for an arse my size!) but they do stain eventually and when you've been wearing them all day they start to loose their shape a little.
The Musto on the other hand are a more 'modern' synthetic fabric, warm (slightly fleecy on the inside) and semi-water resistant, which seems to make them also somewhat stain resistant too! But I don't think they're quite as flattering as the caldene (though that may be due to my shape!) and the seat fabric feels slightly stiff when you first put them on!

I like the look of the Musto ones- not sure if my budget would stretch as far as Kingsland, sigh!

I picked up both my kingsland pairs for the same price as a pair of mustos (although I will admit to buying my mustos for £35 from the outlet!) at RRP. Do a little searching before you buy as you'll often find them in the sale (probably due to the high price tag initially!)
