recommend me -sheeksin or 1/2 sheepskin numnah + exercise sheet

can you guys recommend me a sheepskin numnah or 1/2 sheepskin numnah (dont want a pads as just got rid of one as it was annoying but lovely. The pad i had was KM Elite.

also a exercise sheet. I do ride in the rain sometimes but if it is just a fleece one then does it still keep them warm in windy conditions if it does not have a waterproof outer???

Look for a 'showing' sheepskin (LeMieux do a nice one) - they do not have material backs - are just sheepskin so they 'mould' to the horse better IMHO. If you do go for one with a backing check that it is made from a single piece of sheepskin not sewn-together bits which can rub the horse.

I have a thermalux exercise sheet which stays put in the wind - although it is not waterproof because it is breathable the horse's back stays dry and warm (just been out in the rain in it this morning - the only bit of the horse dry on our return was the bit under the sheet!!

I used to have the nuu med 1/2 sheepskin numnahs & they're great. Only don't use them now as horse needs 1/2 sheepskin pad to help saddle fit. I've got a fleece lined waterproof nag rags exercise sheet & it's excellent.

Yes - waterproof hi-viz is fab! I do covet the Thermalux Nordic one though, but would have to start selling vital organs to pay for it.

Sheepskin? Mattes Platinum is the ultimate, IMHO. I could **almost** have a crisis over just how wonderfully soft it is! Otherwise, Lemieux is a close second.

These guys know good sheepskin. Bought a beautiful numnah from them at YHL. They also give good advice about care of sheepskin too!
