I need to invest in some good horse books, at a bit of a loss as to what to buy though as there are so many on the market these days..

I'm looking for a tack book, feed book, and a handling and breaking of youngsters - don't shoot me but I like natural horsemanship, I haven't had to tell off my horses in about 4 years ( I've had all since they were babies, bar my ex-racer) as regards to manners in and out of the stable since using click training and more nh methods...

Any recommendations?

Thank you for your help :) Xx

Have a look on here at Kelly Marks books for the youngster stuff, you can also catch her on Horse and Country tv doing a series!

IH also do a feeding course, if you look at the educational course bit, which would be well worth atttending as well as the 5 day course if poss :)

You say you are looking for a tack book - in what way do you want a book on tack?? Like an A-Z of whats what? A book isnt any help for recommending really cos tack is so specific to the individual horse.

It might sound odd - but the new Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship is actually really good. It doesn't cover breaking or handling youngsters but for feed, tack stable management etc is it actually quite good.

Don't go for the older copies through - they are quite out of date and a bit dry. You want the new one they just released.
