In light of recent posts about hi-viz, it's about time I bought some new stuff. My old cheapo hi-viz jacket has finally fallen to bits and I am relying on a series of naff tabards including some giant builder's ones from Poundland

So recommend some nice hi-viz stuff

I am especially looking for a good comfy riding jacket with rear vents and a two-way zip, and a lighter waistcoat/gilet or thin waterproof jacket to wear over a t-shirt in summer.

Any other cool new hi-viz stuff you've come across would be nice too

And links to any specific companies that make good stuff? I know v-bandz but that's about it.

a good one for this time of year i would say is a shires calgary
i love mine, i feel very much like i am seen when ever where ever

i need a lightweight one too but no need at the moment so the calgary does the job

i have a really cool v-bands hat band, pricey but really cool! got that from a stall at burghley! and then my tabard is just a shires over the head one!
xx

just go to your local market on the builders/DIY stall and you WILL find some stuff. I am buying a really warm hi-viz from there this weekend and its only £25!

I got a thin Gilet from JJB made for runners, its great, it was only £8 reduced from £30.

That's where my cheap jacket was from, only £8 too, but the damn zip has broken only a month later

That shires one looks lovely

although I am tempted by some of the stuff on hivizextras it all looks like big man sizes, cheap though so perhaps will see what it's like. Thanks guys

Try equifleece also, not the cheapest but very nice and I love their equifleece exercise sheets and now also have an equifleece gilet, think you can buy full fleeces too? However, I have to say i am not one for riding out all lights a flashing - sorry, just can't do it! Maybe I am v lucky and live in a highly populated horseriding area with pretty safe roads with good visibility and courteous drivers

Luna Rider jacket from Ride Away, comes up big, I have one and it fits nice, good shape to it, 2 way zip and back vents, assume you are female as it fits the female shape well and I have had loads of comments on how bright it is! Also Legacy reflective brushing boots really good quality google them for the best prices had loads of comments on mine too as they are almost like your horse wearing lights on it's legs!!!

My friend has the Shires jacket and that looks nice too but not as bright as the Luna Rider.

Yes that's it!! Absolutely love it! Had sooo many comments on how good it looks and how bright it is!! Almost tempted to get another for when this one gets trashed, which it will no doubt do!! Very waterproof too!! Totally 100% happy with it!!
