After some boots to protect my horses legs whilst starting some early lateral work in the school, they need to be breathable as possible so as not to over heat his legs.
Ideas please!

Why do you even need boots at this stage?

Surely this is the time when they need them most?!

A horse learning its balance in the sideways movements? I always boot at this stage, and from the state of the boots I'm very glad that I do! As the horse develops strength and confidence I can then take them off until the next development in his work when his balance changes. I think especially in the sideways movements horses can be quite clumsy and stand on themselves rather a lot while learning the job.

Oh ok, this is different to my thinking then... as I've never had a horse clumsy enough to stand on themselves. I usually teach them on the ground first before asking anything that they might injure themselves by, and if it's only starting then surely the work will be in walk and if you've set them up well, usually they work out where their legs are. However, I can imagine some horses will from time to time need it.
