recommend strong chain padlock

Anyone have any recommendations of where to get strong chains and padlocks for yard gates to stop, or at least, discourage yard breakin?

and likely costs! wnat to buy some EXTRA ones NOW but with xmas post buying online unlikely to be much use in the short term, was hoping we cuold just pop out and buy some. proving much harder than expected :-(

If you have a motorbike shop anywhere locally they might be worth a try. Could be a but expensive, but then anything really substantial won't be cheap.

I second the motor bike security chain. I have several, use them to lock up saddle, gates ( at both ends!). Oxford is a good make and you want it to be 'case hardened'. Expect to pay £50 -£70 depending on length.

I can strongly recommend Abus locks and chains excellent quality.
I would also recommend, if you haven't already, welding a cover on the hinge of the gates to stop thembeing lifted off.

Yep, you want a 'Sold Secure' hardened chain and padlock, and they will cost! Any padlock you can lock without a key won't be up to the job.

Another who uses motorbike chains ,I got mine at home base on a half price offer it was £25.
